Change of artist

I was let down by the person that originally agreed to do my video so I had to find someone new. This was time consuming and meant that I had to change some of my initial ideas because they would no longer work or I didn't have the time and resources to do them. This was incredibly annoying however I have overcome these issues now and have managed to create a new video.

My magazine advert for my album will be placed in the 'Top Of The Pops' magazine. This is because my album is a pop album and my artist is also a pop artist. This suits the genre of the magazine and will also appeal to the audience of 'Top Of The Pops' which is mainly young females, aged 11 to 15. The audience of 'Girl Talk' is 7 to 12 which is why I didn't choose to place my magazine in there as these ages are too young and although these ages may enjoy the music, the target audience is slightly older. To place my advert in this magazine as a full page advert it would cost £2,500. This magazine advert would be really good promotion for my album therefore it would be worth it. 

Ancillary task change

I started making a website homepage as one of my ancillary tasks however I have changed my mind and decided that I am going to make a magazine advert instead. This is because I found the website time consuming and the site 'wix' that I was using was confusing and it was taking me a while to get the hang of it. I decided that it will be more time effective and I will get better final products if I make this change.

Conventions of a magazine advert 

• Distribution (where the CD is available)

Somewhere on my magazine advert, I will need to state where the CD is available so that people know where they can purchase it, otherwise the advert wouldn't be as effective or useful.

• Formats that the release is available in (for example, CD, download, vinyl)

I will also need to state the different formats that it can be purchased in. My CD will be available to download and on the physical CD. 

• Website url

I will need to add my artists website URL on my magazine advert so that fans/people that see the advert, can get involved and get in touch with other fans and what else is going on with the artist.

• Release date of the CD

I will also need to say when the CD is going to be released so that people are aware of when they can purchase the product and they can look out for it in stores.

Production plan

I am going to film my music video after college on April 3rd. Although I have left it until quite late, this will work well because my model is free and also, she can come into college after 4pm so that we can use the media studio.

Things I will need to be able to film:

• My camera

I own a Canon 1200D camera that I am going to use to film. This is good because it means I can use it whenever I need to and I don't need to borrow one from college. 

• Make-up

I will need to bring my own make-up that I want her to wear so that she will look how I need her to

• Costumes

I will need to make sure that Olivia (my model) brings her outfits to wear so that she will look appropriate for my video and have the look that I need. 

• Someone to help with the lights

I will also need a friend to help me change the lights while I film the video. This will need to be someone that has an idea of what I want my video to look like and can also follow instructions of what to do.
